Recreational Fishery – Southern Gulf of St. Lawrence

Moncton, New Brunswick – May 9, 2016 - Fisheries and Oceans Canada wishes to inform the public of the shark recreational fishing plan in the southern Gulf of St-Lawrence (division 4T) starting in 2016.

The season will open annually from September 1 to September 30. Anglers with a shark recreational fishing license will be able to catch and release shark from sunrise to sunset each day during the open season.

A licence is required for this fishery. To obtain a licence, a request has to be made using the National Online Licensing System. If you require assistance, please contact the Client Support by email at or toll free at 1-877-535-7307.
