Notice

The Regional Director General for the Gulf Region, Department of Fisheries and Oceans hereby gives notice that the area listed below located in the Province of New Brunswick is no longer closed to fishing of any bivalve molluscs because of high levels of biotoxins (PSP): 
 
The waters enclosed within a straight line drawn from grid reference 355843 5248179 located near Chamberlains Point (Brantville) to grid reference 359917 5247365 located east of Ross Point and to grid reference 375016 5286278 located south of the Shippagan gully entrance;

Note: When the boundary of an area is expressed in grid references, those grid references are based on the Universal Transverse Mercator Grid System set out in the National Topographic Series Map, Scale 1:50,000 published by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources (North American Datum 1983).
 
Fishers are reminded that while some of the waters of North Eastern New Brunswick are no longer closed due to high levels of biotoxins, these same waters may be closed to fishing due to high
levels of bacteria. Fishers are encouraged to consult their local Fishery Officers concerning the status of the fishing areas before going fishing.

Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. GTN-2006-08 issued on July 13, 2006, is revoked.
 
Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. GTN-2006-09 will come into force on August 3, 2006.
