Notice

The Regional Director General for the Gulf Region, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, hereby gives notice that the following areas located in the Province of Prince Edward Island are closed for fishing for any bivalve molluscs due to contamination:

  1. The upper portion of Souris River inside a line drawn from grid reference 554360 5136160 to grid reference 554538 5136158 (Refer to map a Souris 11L/8 & 11K/5);
  2. The eastern portion of Souris River between a line drawn from grid reference 555765 5134470 to grid reference 555550 5133700. (Refer to map Souris 11L/8 & 11K/5).

Note: When the boundary of an area is expressed in grid references, those grid references are based on the Universal Transverse Mercator Grid system set out on the National Topographic Series Map, Scale 1:50,000 published by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources (North American Datum 1927).

Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. GSN-2006-44 issued on April 18, 2006, is revoked.

Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. GSN-2007-014 will come into force on April 4, 2007 and remains in force, unless otherwise revoked.
