Notice

The Regional Director General for the Gulf Region, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, hereby gives notice that the areas listed below are closed for fishing for any bivalve molluscs due to contamination:
  1. The Restigouche River and Chaleur Bay inside a line drawn from grid reference 664950 5317000 to grid reference 664850 5317500 (intersecting the New Brunswick/Quebec provincial boundaries), thence to grid reference 681004 5322492 located North of McLeods thence to grid reference 690405 5327725 located North of Point La Nim thence to grid reference 696116 5328686 located North of Dalhousie Harbour thence to grid reference 698000 5327500 and thence to grid reference 704000 5318840 on Hamilton Point (Refer to maps Atholville 21-O/15, Escuminac 22 B/1 and Charlo 21-O/16).
  2. The foreshore and waters of Heron Channel and Blackland Brook within a 120 m radius of grid reference 708030 5316770 at the mouth of the brook (Refer to map Charlo 21-O/16).
  3. The foreshore and waters off of New Mills that are inside a line drawn from grid reference 708620 5316950 seaward to grid reference 708620 5317210, thence to grid reference 710040 5317210 and thence shoreward to grid reference 710250 5316570 (Refer to map Charlo 21-O/16)
  4. Heron Channel and Benjamin River inside a line drawn from grid reference 711330 5316470 to grid reference 711680 5316740 and thence to grid reference 711960 5316420 (Refer to map Charlo 21-O/16).
  5. The foreshore and waters off of Heron Island, Chaleur Bay, inside a line drawn from grid reference 712875 5320026 seaward to grid reference 713052 5320314, thence to grid reference 715548 5318463, thence to grid reference 715537 5317784, thence to grid reference 714713 5317632, thence to grid reference 714114 5317722, thence to grid reference 713655 5317562 and thence shoreward to grid reference 713558 5317911 (Refer to map Charlo 21-O/16).
  6. Dickie Cove inside a line drawn from grid reference 714820 5314970 on Dickie Point to grid reference 715500 5315260 (Refer to map Charlo 21-O/16).
  7. Nash Creek and Chaleur Bay inside a line drawn from grid reference 717250 5312350 seaward to grid reference 717390 5312830 and thence shoreward to grid reference 719000 5312120 (Refer to map Charlo 21-O/16).
  8. Jacquet River and Chaleur Bay inside a line drawn from grid reference 720670 5312200 seaward to grid reference 721000 5313000, thence to grid reference 722150 5313000, thence to grid reference 723250 5312450 and thence shoreward to grid reference 723200 5312300 (Refer to map Charlo 21-O/16).
  9. The foreshore and waters off of Armstrong Brook within a 120 m radius of grid reference 276820 5311500 (Armstrong Brook) (Refer to map Pointe-Verte 21 P/13).
  10. The foreshore and waters within a 120 m radius of grid reference 278670 5311350 (located between Trap Point and Quinn Point) (Refer to map Pointe-Verte 21 P/13). 
  11. The foreshore and waters off of Little Belledune Point within a 120 m radius of grid reference 282970 5311370 (Refer to map Pointe-Verte 21 P/13). 
  12. The foreshore and waters within a 120 m radius of grid reference 277620 5311450 approximately 250 meters east of Trap Point) (Refer to map Pointe-Verte 21P/13).
Note: When the boundary of an area is expressed in grid references, those grid references are based on the Universal Transverse Mercator Grid System set out in the National Topographic Series Map, Scale 1:50,000 published by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources (North American Datum 1927).
