Notice

The Regional Director General for the Gulf Region, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, hereby gives notice that Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. GCN-2013-001 is hereby revoked, re-opening that portion of Tabusintac Bay as described below, to fishing for bivalve molluscs:

A portion of Tabusintac Bay near Bayshore at grid reference 353286E 5248532N, then easterly to a point near Chamberlains Point at grid reference 356434E 5248447N then southerly to a point near Palmer Point at grid reference 353900E 5240185N and then westerly to a point on land at Black Lands to grid reference 351625E 5240286N. (Refer to maps Tabusintac River 21P/06 and Wishart Point 21P/07).

Note: When the boundary of an area is expressed in grid references, those grid references are based on the Universal Transverse Mercator Grid System set out in the National Topographic Series Map, Scale 1:50,000 published by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources. (North American Datum 1983)

Fishers are reminded that nearby waters are still closed to fishing due to high levels of bacteria. Fishers are encouraged to consult their local Fishery Officers concerning the status of the fishing areas before going fishing.

Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. GCN-2013-002 comes into force on May 24, 2013, and remains in force unless otherwise revoked.

Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. GCN-2013-001 issued on May 8, 2013, is revoked.
