Notice

The Regional Director General for the Gulf Region, Department of Fisheries and Oceans hereby gives notice that the area listed below is open for fishing for any species of clams, mussels, oysters, whelks and any other bivalve molluscs, including bay scallops in the Province of Prince Edward Island (Subject to fishing seasons and licensing requirements/restrictions (conditions of licence)):

All waters of St. Peters Bay inside a line drawn from grid reference 520515E 5142741N at the end of Gulf View road to grid reference 520875E 5143317N at the tip of Greenich National Park (Refer to map Mount Stewart 11L/7).

Note: When the boundary of an area is expressed in grid references, those grid references are based on the Universal Transverse Mercator Grid System set out in the National Topographic Series Map, Scale 1:50,000 published by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources. (North American Datum 1983)

Fishers are reminded that nearby waters are still closed to fishing due to high levels of bacteria. Fishers are encouraged to consult their local Fishery Officers concerning the status of the fishing areas before going fishing.

Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. GSN-2016-042 comes into force on September 23, 2016.
