Notice

The Regional Director General for the Gulf Region, Department of Fisheries and Oceans hereby gives notice that the area listed below is open for fishing for any species of clams, mussels, oysters and any other bivalve molluscs, including bay scallops in the Province of Nova Scotia (Subject to fishing seasons and licensing requirements/restrictions (conditions of licence)):
 
The following areas within Inverness County and Victoria County, Nova Scotia:

•All waters within 3 kms of the coastline in that portion of Inverness County from grid reference 621841E 5059167N near Long Pond to the Inverness County/Victoria County Line.

•All waters within 3 kms of the coastline including islands from that portion of Inverness County from grid reference 621841E 5059167N near Long Pond northward to grid reference 696559E 5212517N, located at Cape North (in Victoria County).

Note:  When the boundary of an area is expressed in grid references, those grid references are based on the Universal Transverse Mercator Grid System set out in the National Topographic Series Map, Scale 1:50,000 published by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources (North American Datum 1983).

Fishers are reminded that nearby waters are still closed to fishing due to high levels of bacteria. Fishers are encouraged to consult their local Fishery Officers concerning the status of the fishing areas before going fishing.

Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order GSN 2016-052 is hereby revoked.
