Notice

The Regional Director General for the Gulf Region, Department of Fisheries and Oceans hereby gives notice that the area listed below is open for fishing for any species of clams, mussels, oysters, whelks and any other bivalve molluscs, including bay scallops in the Province of New Brunswick (Subject to fishing seasons and licensing requirements/restrictions (conditions of licence)):

The waters of Caraquet Bay inside lines drawn from grid reference 348808E 5293422N to grid reference 348683E 5293586N to grid reference 348393E 5294545N to grid reference 354939E 5296130N to grid reference 354934E 5298497N to grid reference 357434E 5298495N to grid reference 357646E 5298126N to grid reference 358209E 5297151E to grid reference 359741E 5296806N to grid reference 360695E 5296981N to grid reference 360885E 5296484N. (Refer to map Grande-Anse 21P/14).

Note: When the boundary of an area is expressed in grid references, those grid references are based on the Universal Transverse Mercator Grid System set out in the National Topographic Series Map, Scale 1:50,000 published by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources. (North American Datum 1983)

Fishers are reminded that nearby waters are still closed to fishing due to high levels of bacteria. Fishers are encouraged to consult their local Fishery Officers concerning the status of the fishing areas before going fishing.
