Notice

The Regional Director General for the Gulf Region, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, hereby gives notice that Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. GSN-2019-021 (closing the area listed below) is hereby revoked:

1. Waters of Vernon River inside a line drawn from a point at 46.15382° north latitude, 62.88942° west longitude to a point at 46.15417° north latitude, 62.89319° west longitude to a point at 46.16285° north latitude, 62.88665° west longitude to a point at 46.16296° north latitude, 62.88080° west longitude. (Refer to map Montague 11L/2).

2. Waters of Orwell River upstream from a line drawn from a point at 46.15243° north latitude, 62.87846° west longitude to a point at 46.15241° north latitude, 62.88400° west longitude and to a line drawn from a point at 46.15709° north latitude, 62.86098° west longitude to a point at 46.15195° north latitude, 46.15195° north latitude, 62.86148° west longitude. (Refer to map Montague 11L/2).

Note: The Latitude and Longitude positions are expressed in decimal degrees based on the North American Datum 1983 (NAD 83) system which is equivalent to the World Geodetic Coordinate System 1984 (WGS84).

Fishers are reminded that nearby waters are still closed to fishing due to high levels of bacteria. Fishers are encouraged to consult their local Fishery Officers concerning the status of the fishing areas before going fishing.
