Notice

The Regional Director-General, Maritimes Region, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, issues the Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. MAR-STN-2015-009 which closes the following areas to fishing for all species of clams, quahaugs, mussels, oysters, all whelks and bay scallops:

 

A portion of Clam Harvesting Area 4, namely the foreshore and waters of South Nova Scotia (Terence Bay, Prospect Bay, Back Bay, Pennant Bay) described as:

 

That portion of Terence Bay, Prospect Bay, Back Bay, and Pennant Bay, Halifax County, Nova Scotia, inside a line drawn from grid reference 448403 4920136 (Pennant Point) to grid reference 434971 4925972 (Shad Bay Head). Refer to map Sambro11/D05.

 

Note: When the boundary of an area is expressed in grid references, those grid references are based on the Universal Transverse Mercator Grid system set out on the National Topographic Series Map, Scale 1:50,000 published by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources (North American Datum 1983).
