Notice

The Regional Director-General, for Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Maritimes Region, issues Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. MAR-STN-2016-024, closing the following area to fishing for all species of clams, quahaugs, mussels, oysters, all whelks and bay scallops and sea scallops  due to unacceptable levels of Domoic Acid: 

A portion of Clam Harvesting Area 2, namely Zone 2 Annapolis Basin, Nova Scotia and described as: 

The area (known as Zone 2) within straight lines drawn from grid reference 281698 4950620 at Victoria Beach then to grid reference 283386 4948269 then to grid reference 290617 4951314 then to grid reference 289633 4952262 at Black Point. ( NAD 83) 

Note: When the boundary of an area is expressed in grid references, those grid references are based on the Universal Transverse Mercator Grid system set out on the National Topographic Series Map, Scale 1:50,000 published by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources (North American Datum 1983).
