NOTICE
ANGLING
NOVA SCOTIA
Due to the Province of Nova Scotia’s recent declaration of a provincial state of emergency to help contain the spread of COVID-19, Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s Regional Director-General, Maritimes Region, wishes to advise the public that angling for all species of fish in the inland and tidal waters of Nova Scotia, including the Bras d’Or Lakes, is hereby prohibited until April 30, 2020. Please refer to Variation Order: MAR-VAR-2020-051.
This Order does not apply to fisheries where a person holds a licence issued under the Atlantic Fisheries Regulations, 1985. Conversations continue between DFO and the Province of Nova Scotia and decisions will be made prior to May 1, 2020 as to whether or not this closure will continue and/or possibly exempt some species to permit fishing.
