Herring Mobile Gear Fishery Opening in Bonavista, Trinity & Conception Bays

Herring Mobile Gear Fishery Opening in Bonavista, Trinity & Conception Bays DFO advises that the Herring fishery in Bonavista Bay, Trinity Bay, and Conception Bay (Herring Fishing Area 5, 6 and 7) will open for mobile gear (purse seine) vessels less than 65 feet in length, at 0600 hours on Friday, April 1, 2016. Licence conditions are available through the National Online Licencing System (NOLS). Fish harvesters are advised that dockside monitoring is a requirement in this fishery.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Order 2016-004 has been revoked and Variation Order 2016-009 comes into effect on March 31, 2016.
