Greenland Halibut (Turbot) Fishery Opening in NAFO Division 4RST

DFO advises that the Greenland Halibut (turbot) fishery in NAFO Divisions 4RST, in water depths 140 fathoms or greater, for fixed gear vessels less than 65 feet based in NAFO Divisions 2J4R3Pn, will open at 0600 hours on Sunday June 5, 2016.

 Harvesters not participating in the 2016 Atlantic Halibut Sustainability Plan, must release ALL Atlantic Halibut.

Licence conditions are available through the online licencing system and fish harvesters should review their licence conditions for specific management measures.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Order 2016-046 has been revoked and Variation Order 2016-060 comes into effect on June 4, 2016.
