2016 Greenland Halibut Fishery Opening in NAFO Divisions 3LMNO

DFO advises that the fixed gear Greenland halibut fishery in NAFO Divisions 3LMNO for vessel classes A253, A254, A259 and A260 will open June 29, 2016 at 0600hrs.

Fish harvesters are required to hail-out to an At Sea Observer Company prior to leaving port and if they plan to fish in two different areas during the same trip. As well, harvesters are required to fax a Daily Report of fishing activity as described in Schedule 16 to Fisheries and Oceans Canada fax number 1-709-772-5634.

Licences and conditions are available through DFO’s National On-line Licencing System.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Order 2016-073 has been revoked and Variation Order 2016-083 comes into effect on June 28, 2016.
