WITCH FLOUNDER FISHERY OPENING IN NAFO SUB-DIVISION 4Rd (Bay St. George)

DFO advises that the Witch flounder (Greysole) fishery for vessels less than 65 feet, using Danish seine (vessel classes C50 and C351), will open in NAFO sub-Division 4Rd - from a line drawn due west of Cape Ray, north to a line drawn due west of Cape St. George on Friday, June 30, 2017.

Fish harvesters are reminded that licences and licence conditions are available through DFO's National On-line Licencing System.

At-sea observer coverage services must be arranged before commencing fishing. Hail-in and hail-out provisions apply and fish harvesters should refer to the licence conditions for details.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Order 2017-020 has been revoked and Variation Order 2017-134 comes into effect on June 29, 2017.
