NOTICE TO FISH HARVESTERS

CAPELIN FIXED GEAR FISHERY CLOSING IN WESTERN NL

 

DFO advises that the Capelin fixed gear fishery (trap, bar seine - including tuck seine), for vessels less than 19.8 metres in overall length, will close at 2000 hours on July 17, 2018 in the following areas:

Point Riche to Big Brook,

Big Brook to Cape Bauld,

and that portion of Capelin Fishing Area 14 from the Quebec/Labrador border, north to Cape Charles and west of a line drawn between the following points:

51 degrees 20 minutes North, 56 degrees 57 minutes West, and

51 degrees 57 minutes North, 55 degrees 21 minutes West.

Harvesters are reminded that all fishing gear must be removed from the water by the closing time.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2018-132 has been revoked and Variation Order 2018-159 comes into effect on July 17, 2018.
