Fixed Gear Capelin Fishery Opening in Bonavista Bay

 

DFO advises that the capelin fishery for vessels using Fixed gear, tuck seine and trap, will open on July 21, 2018 at 0600 hours in Bonavista Bay (CFA 5).

Fish harvesters are reminded that no capelin may be removed from any fixed gear until the fishery has been open for a period of 24 hours.

Fish harvesters are advised to listen to 2598 khz or VHF continuous Marine Radio for the latest information.

Licence conditions can be obtained through DFO’s National On-line Licencing System.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Order 2018-161 has been revoked and Variation Order 2018-172 comes into effect at 1800 hours on July 20, 2018.
