Northern Cod Stewardship Fishery Opening

DFO advises that the Northern cod Stewardship fishery will open to fish harvesters based in NAFO Divisions 3KL at 0600 hours on Sunday, August 12, 2018.

NAFO division 2J opened on August 5, 2018.

Licence conditions will be in effect for the period of August 12, 2018 to September 1, 2018. Licence conditions for the period after September 2, 2018 will be made available shortly. Licences and conditions are available through DFO's National On-line Licensing System.

Fish harvesters are reminded that they must renew their groundfish licence and arrange At-Sea Observer coverage services prior to fishing.

Compliance with management measures is essential for the success of this fishery. This includes the accurate completion and return of all logbooks, as per licence conditions.
