3Ps <65' Fixed Gear Atlantic Halibut Retention Permitted

Fish harvesters are advised that the retention of Atlantic halibut taken as by-catch in other directed groundfish fisheries in NAFO Sub-Division 3Ps will be permitted for fixed gear vessels less than 65 feet as of 0600 hours on Monday, August 27, 2018.

By-catch limits are outlined in harvesters 2018 Groundfish General Licence conditions.

If excessive by-catch occurs in species specific directed fisheries, they may be closed on short notice.

DFO reminds harvesters ALL directed skate <65 fisheries are closed in 3Ps.
