CAPELIN FIXED GEAR FISHERY CLOSING IN A PORTION OF WESTERN NL

DFO advises that the Capelin fixed gear fishery (trap, bar seine - including tuck seine), for vessels less than 19.8 metres in overall length, will close at 1200 hours on July 16, 2019 in the following area:

Capelin Fishing Area 14 From the Quebec - Labrador Border north to Cape Charles and west of a line drawn between the following points 51º38' N, 55º26'W and 52º15'N, 55º26'W

Harvesters are reminded that all fishing gear must be removed from the water by the closing time.

A reopening may occur pending assessment of landings.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2019-155 has been revoked and Variation Order 2019-156 comes into effect at 1000 hours on July 16, 2019.
