CAPELIN FIXED GEAR FISHERY CLOSING IN PORTION OF AREA 14

DFO advises that the Capelin fixed gear fishery using traps and bar seine (including modified bar seine known as "tuck seine"), for vessels less than 65 feet, in a portion of Western NL will close at 2000 hours on August 12, 2020.

The specific Capelin quota zone that will close is as follows:

Capelin Fishing Area 14 from the Quebec/Labrador border, north to Cape Charles and west of a line drawn between the following points:

51 degrees 20 minutes North, 56 degrees 57 minutes West, and

51 degrees 57 minutes North, 55 degrees 21 minutes West.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2020-148 has been revoked and Variation Order 2020-191 comes into effect at 1800 hours on August 12, 2020
