Greenland Halibut (Turbot) Fishery < 65 ft Fixed Gear Fleet opening in NAFO Divisions 2+3K
DFO advises that the fixed gear Greenland halibut fishery (Turbot) in NAFO Divisions 2+3K will open for vessels less than 65 feet at 0600 hrs, June 29, 2016 and will close 2000 hrs, July 6, 2016.
Fish Harvesters are required to hail-out to an At Sea Observer Company 24 hours prior to leaving port. All gear must be removed from the waters of NAFO Divisions 2+3K at the end of the trip.
Licences conditions are available through DFO’s National On-line Licencing System for those fish harvester who submitted an Expression of Interest to participate in the June NAFO Divisions 2+3K fixed gear Greenland halibut (Turbot) fishery.
The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Order 2016-073 has been revoked and Variation Order 2016-083 comes into effect on June 28, 2016.
