Molluscan Shellfish Harvesting Re-opening - Notre Dame Bay


DFO advises that, following acceptable water quality sampling by Environment and Climate Change Canada and shellstock sampling by CFIA, a portion of Notre Dame Bay that was closed on September 8, 2016 will re-open for molluscan shellfish harvesting.

- all waters within 3 km of the coastline and islands from the headland at 616428E 548481N (UTM zone 21, NAD83) east to a point near Cape Freels at 317550E 5461710N (UTM Zone 22, NAD83). This includes classified waters in: Osmonton Arm, Big Island West Arm, Strong Island Sound, South Arm, Fortune Harbour, Thwart Island, Reach Run, Coal All Island, Goshens Arm, Burnt Arm and Upper Gut Arm

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Prohibition Order NSN2016-013 has been revoked and Prohibition Order NSN2016-015 comes into effect at 1800 hours on September 16, 2016.
