NOTICE OF SEASON FOR RECREATIONAL BAR CLAM FISHING IN AREA 2

The Regional Director-General Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Maritimes Region, gives notice that the fishing of bar clam, for recreational purposes by hand and with hand held tools throughout Clam Harvesting Area 2 (all of the tidal waters adjacent to the counties of Digby, Annapolis and Kings, Nova Scotia) are closed from December 1 to April 14 (open from April 15 to November 30), except for the following area:

Exception for Recreational Fishing:

(1)  Recreational fishing of Bar Clam Only - Closed December 1 to March 15 (Open March 16 to November 30).  In that portion of Digby County inside a line drawn from grid reference 2746 9967 at Pointe des Marechal to grid reference 2696 0027 thence to grid reference 2800 1300 thence to grid reference 3400 2200 thence to grid reference 3494 2175 at Cape Firmain.  Refer to maps Meteghan 21 B/1 and Church Point 21 B/8.

Note:  When the boundary of an area is expressed in grid references, those grid references are based on the Universal Transverse Mercator Grid system set out on the National Topographic Series Map, 1:50,000 published by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources. (NAD 1927).
