Soft-Shell Closed Area for Crab and Shrimp Fishing in NAFO Division 3K

DFO advises that in accordance with the soft-shell crab protocol, that the following grids in Crab Fishing Area 4 in NAFO Division 3K will close to fishing snow crab and shrimp at midnight on Thursday, June 01, 2017 due to a high incidence of soft-shell crab.

Grid X-39, Grid X-40 and Grid Y-40 

All crab pots must be removed from this area. The closure for northern shrimp is in effect for 60 days, and will re-open on August 04, 2015 if the shrimp fishery is open at that time.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Orders 2017-078 and 2016-265 have been revoked and Variation Orders 2017-081 and 2017-082 come into effect at 1800 hours on May 31, 2017.
