Greenland Halibut (Turbot) Fishery < 65 ft Fixed Gear Fleet opening in NAFO Divisions 2+3KLMNO


DFO advises that the fixed gear Greenland halibut fishery (Turbot) in NAFO Divisions 2+3KLMNO will open for vessels less than 65 feet at 0600 hours, August 4, 2017 and will close 2000 hours, August 15, 2017.

Fish Harvesters are required to hail-out to an At Sea Observer Company 24 hours prior to leaving port.

Licence conditions are available through DFO's National On-line Licencing System for those fish harvester who submitted an Expression of Interest and are eligible to participate in the August NAFO Divisions 2+3KLMNO fixed gear Greenland halibut (Turbot) fishery.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Order 2017-124 has been revoked and Variation Order 2017-189 comes into effect on August 2, 2017.
