DFO INSHORE FISHERY OUTREACH MEETINGS

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans will host a number of meetings in the Southern Western and Straits Area (NAFO sub-division 4R3Pn). The intent of the meetings is to provide inshore harvesters and other interested stakeholders an opportunity to discuss matters of concern in current inshore fisheries. Our primary goal will be to hear harvesters' concerns with a view to working with them to develop feasible solutions.

The schedule of meetings is as follows:

Maynard's Torrent River Inn, Hawkes Bay. Meting 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 6th

Northern Lights Inn, L'Anse au Clair, Labrador. Meeting 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 7th

Shallow Bay Motel, Cow Head. Meeting 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8th

Stephenville Lions Club, Woodland Drive, Stephenville. Meeting 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9^th

A similar series of meetings will be held on the south coast of Newfoundland in mid-to-late November.
