Molluscan Shellfish Harvesting Re-Opening - Significant Rainfall
Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) advises the public of the re-opening for the harvesting of bivalve molluscan shellfish, including scallops, mussels, and clams for recreational or commercial purposes in the following areas (effective 6:00 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2017):
• all waters within 3 km of the coastline and islands from surrounding the Avalon Peninsula from Chance Cove to Little Harbour East, NL.
More detailed information on remaining closed areas still in effect prior to this rainfall closure can be obtained from the nearest DFO office.
The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Prohibition Order NSN2017-007 comes into effect at 0600 hours on October 6, 2017.
