CORRECTION: Marine Conservation Closure (Northeast Newfoundland Slope)
DFO is issuing a corrected version of the Northeast Newfoundland Slope Marine Conservation Closure (see below). Harvesters can disregard the coordinates issued on December 22, 2017 and replace them with the coordinates provided below. DFO reminds harvesters that the area is closed for all Vessel Classes using fishing gear, which is designed to come into contact with the sea floor which includes, but is not limited to, mobile gear, longlines, pots, and gillnets within that portion of NAFO Divisions 3KL, defined by rhumb lines joining the following points in the order in which they are listed (NAD 83):
Northeast Newfoundland Slope Closure Part 1
Part 1 is defined by rhumb lines joining the following points to form the western boundary in the order in which they are listed, and subsequently follow the limit of Canada's Exclusive Economic Zone north returning to Point 30 to enclose the area.
