CAPELIN FISHERY OPENING FOR THE GREATER THAN AND LESS THAN 65' FLEET IN WESTERN NL

DFO advises that the Capelin purse seine fishery for mobile gear vessels, greater than and less than 65', in Capelin Fishing Areas 13 and 14 (NAFO Division 4R) will open at 0600 hours on Friday, June 15, 2018.

This fishery will open on an interim quota for all fleets until the Total Allowable Catch is determined.

All fish harvesters are reminded that dockside monitoring requirements are in place for this fishery, and that at-sea observer service arrangements must be made prior to the commencement of fishing activity.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2017-310 has been revoked and Variation Order 2018-099 comes into effect on June 14, 2018.
