Greenland Halibut (Turbot) Fishery < 65 ft. Fixed Gear Fleet Opening in NAFO Divisions 2+3KLMNO


DFO advises harvesters of the following opening dates for the < 65 ft. fixed gear Greenland halibut fishery (Turbot) in NAFO Divisions 2+3KLMNO.

For harvesters with a homeport in 3L and a permit for 3L: 6 A.M. Sunday July 1 to 8.P.M Sunday July 15.

For harvesters with a homeport in 3KL and a permit for 2J3KL: 6 A.M. Saturday July 7 to 8 P.M. Saturday July 21.

For harvesters with a homeport in 2J and a permit for 2J3K: 6 A.M. Wednesday July 25 to 8 P.M. Wednesday August 8.

For harvesters with a homeport in 4R and a permit for 2J: 6 A.M. Wednesday July 25 to 8 P.M. Wednesday August 8.

Fish Harvesters are required to hail-out to an At Sea Observer Company 24 hours prior to leaving port.

Licence conditions will be available through DFO's National On-line Licencing System for those fish harvester who submitted an Expression of Interest and are eligible to participate in the NAFO Divisions 2+3KLMNO fixed gear Greenland halibut (Turbot) fishery.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Order 2018-110 has been revoked and Variation Order 2018-126 comes into effect on June 29, 2018.
