MACKEREL PURSE SEINE FISHERY OPENING IN WESTERN NL AREAS

DFO advises that the Mackerel purse seine fishery for vessels less than and greater than 65 feet, in Mackerel Fishing Areas 12, 13 and 14 (NAFO Divisions 4R3Pn) will open at 0600 hours on August 1, 2018.

All fish harvesters are reminded that in line with the dockside monitoring requirements for this fishery, all fish product must be weighed off at point of landing. 

Fish harvesters must have At-Sea Observer coverage services arranged before commencing fishing.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Order 2017-312 has been revoked and Variation Order 2018-205 comes into effect on July 28, 2018.
