REMINDER: Public Information Sessions on Fishery Monitoring Policy and Marine Mammal Protection Act
DFO wishes to remind harvesters that the Department will be holding public information sessions to discuss:
1. DFO's Fishery Monitoring Policy
How the Fishery Monitoring Policy aims to promote collaborative monitoring of catches, landings, location, ecosystem impacts, and compliance.
2. USA's Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA)
How the MMPA will impact exports into the USA in 2022.
The purpose of these sessions is to provide information as to how both the Fishery Monitoring Policy and the Marine Mammal Protection Act affect all commercial and recreational fish harvesters and stakeholders.
These meetings will be held on the dates, locations, and times identified below:
November 26 - St. John's, Holiday Inn, 180 Portugal Cove Rd, 10:30am (NAFO Divisions 3LNO)
November 28 - Gander, Albatross Hotel, 10:30am (NAFO Division 3K)
November 29 - Clarenville, Clarenville Inn, 10:30am (NAFO Sub-Division 3Ps)
Fish Harvesters and stakeholders are encouraged to attend these information sessions.
