Mandatory Humane Harvesting Training for the Commercial Seal Fishery - March and April 2018
Humane Harvesting training sessions are currently scheduled for March and April 2018, as outlined below.
WEEK #1 - March 20-23
Cow Head - Tuesday, March 20th - Shallow Bay Motel
Mary's Harbour, Labrador - Wednesday, March 21st - River Lodge Hotel **Begins 1:00pm
Grand Falls/Windsor - Wednesday, March 21st - Corduroy Brook Enhancement Assoc. (2 Conservation Place)
St. John's - Friday, March 23, 2018 - Capital Hotel
WEEK #2 - April 3-6
Plum Point - Tuesday, April 3rd - Plum Point Motel
Deer Lake - Thursday, April 5th - Deer Lake Motel
Clarenville - Friday, April 6th - St. Jude Hotel
Training schedule:
9:00 a.m. - Humane Harvesting
11:00 a.m. - Quality / Handling / Health
These workshops are being delivered specifically for Sealers that are looking to obtain a Commercial Assistant Temporary Licence.
Fisheries and Oceans reminds all Commercial Seal licence holders that Humane Harvesting Training on the three-step process is mandatory for all Commercial Seal licence holders - including the Commercial Assistant Temporary licence category.
