REMINDER - 2018 Recreational Groundfish Fishery Season Dates

 

DFO reminds all participants in the Recreational Groundfish fishery in NAFO Divisions 2GH, 2J3KL, 3Ps and 4R3Pn that fishing is not permitted outside of the season dates, even if fishing from land.

The season dates for the remainder of year is as follows:

Saturday, August 18, 2018 to Monday, August 20, 2018

Saturday, August 25, 2018 to Monday, August 27, 2018

Saturday, September 1, 2018 to Monday, September 3, 2018

Saturday, September 22, 2018 to Sunday, September 30, 2018.

 

For safety reasons, fishing is only permitted from one hour before sunrise until one hour after sunset. The public is reminded to follow safe boating practices and be aware of local weather and sea conditions before leaving port.
