CAPELIN FIXED GEAR FISHERY OPENING IN PORTIONS OF AREA 14
DFO advises that the Capelin fixed gear fishery using traps and bar seine (including modified bar seine known as "tuck seine"), for vessels less than 65 feet, in Capelin Fishing Area 14 from Big Brook to Cape Bauld and EAST of a line drawn between the following points: 51 degrees 20 minutes North, 56 degrees 57 minutes West and 51 degrees 57 minutes North, 55 degrees 21 minutes West will open at 0600hrs on Saturday, June 29, 2019.
All fish harvesters are reminded that dockside monitoring requirements are in place for this fishery. Licence conditions are available through DFO's National On-line Licencing System.
The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2019-110 has been revoked and Variation Order 2019-122 comes into effect on June 28, 2019.
