Salmon Rivers Re-opening in Zones 5 & 6
DFO advises anglers that the following rivers will re-open to normal salmon angling hours as of one hour before sunrise on August 29, 2020.
Zone 5
50. Northwest Gander Tributary
(Note: That portion of Northwest Gander Tributary of the Gander River from mouth of Great Gull River and Upstream is also open to normal angling hours. In addition, the Main Stem below Gander Lake is open to normal angling hours)
55. Northwest Brook, Indian Bay
56. Indian Bay River & tributary streams
57. Northwest Brook, Trinity, Bonavista Bay
58. Traverse Brook & tributary streams
59. Middle Brook, including Square Pond Brook & Burnt Pond Brook
60. Gambo River & tributary streams, including Mint Brook, Narrows, Triton Brook, Riverhead Brook & Parsons Brook
61. Northwest Brook, Alexander Bay
62. *Terra Nova River & tributaries, including Maccles Brook
64. Salmon Brook, Port Blandford, & tributary streams
65. Southwest Brook, Port Blandford, & tributary streams
Zone 6
66. * Salmon Cove River, Trinity Bay
67. Trouty River, Trinity Bay
69. * Shoal Harbour River, Trinity Bay & tributaries
*indicates river has closed sections (reference Angler’s Guide 2020-21)

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Orders 2020-219, 2020-220, 2020-221, 2020-222 and 2020-223 have been revoked and Variation Orders 2020-224, 2020-225, 2020-226, 2020-227, 2020-228 come into effect at 1700 hours August 28, 2020.
