Mandatory Humane Harvesting Training for the Commercial Seal Fishery - March 2020

Humane Harvesting training sessions are currently scheduled for March 2020, as outlined below.

Whitbourne - Monday, March 23, 2020 - Lions Club

Gander - Tuesday, March 24, 2020 - Albatross Hotel

Deer Lake - Wednesday, March 25, 2020 - Deer Lake Motel

Plum Point - Thursday, March 26, 2020 - Plum Point Motel

Training schedule:

9:00 a.m. - Humane Harvesting

11:00 a.m. - Quality / Handling / Health

The cost of the workshop is $50.00 which includes the Humane Harvesting and the Quality / Handling / Health. Certificates will be issued by the Professional Fish Harvesters Certification Board.

These workshops are being delivered specifically for Sealers that are looking to obtain a Commercial Assistant Licence.

Fisheries and Oceans reminds all Commercial Seal licence holders that Humane Harvesting Training on the three-step process is mandatory for all Commercial Seal licence holders.
