2020 2J3KL Cod Stewardship Fishery Fall Fishery and Reminder of 3KL Catch Limits

As per the 2020 Conservation and Harvesting Plan (CHP), DFO reminds 3KL fish harvesters who opted for Fall Fishery that the season commences at 06:00 hours on September 20, 2020.

Harvesters who opted to fish during the 3KL regular season are reminded that the base authorized weekly limit will increase to 3,850lbs as of September 20, 2020 and new license conditions are required.

Harvesters are reminded that they are to ensure that weekly landing limits are not exceeded by setting only the amount of fishing gear that is necessary to catch the weekly limits.

Fish Harvesters are advised that license conditions are available on the National Online Licensing System (NOLS).

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2020-238 has been revoked and Variation Order 2020-239 comes into effect on September 19, 2020.
