Area 9 (Inner St. Mary's Bay) Scallop Fishery Reopening
DFO advises that the commercial Scallop fishery in Area 9 (Inner St. Mary's Bay) in NAFO Division 3L will reopen at 0600 hours Saturday, August 7, 2021 for harvesters in the following Vessel Class: C4701.
DFO wishes to remind scallop harvesters of new reporting requirements that are being introduced in 2021 for all vessels less than 40'.
In addition to required logbook submissions, mandatory hails and landing authorizations are now required for the 2021 season for all <40' vessels.
These requirements are outlined in the conditions of licence for this fishery.
Harvesters are reminded that dragging is not permitted in the inshore crab fishing areas in NAFO Division 3L.
The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2021-208 has been revoked and Variation Order 2021-236 comes into effect on August 6, 2021.
