Herring Mobile Gear Opening in St. Mary's Bay and Placentia Bay for >55' fleet

Fisheries and Oceans Canada advises that the Herring fishery in St. Mary's Bay, Herring Fishing Area 09 and Placentia Bay, Herring Fishing Area 10 for mobile gear vessels greater than 55 feet in length (16.76 m), will open at 0600 hours on Monday, January 25, 2021.

Fishers are reminded that At-Sea Observer coverage and Dockside Monitoring services must be arranged prior to fishing.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2020-252 has been revoked and Variation Order 2021-003 comes into effect on January 23, 2021.
