Scientific Survey Occurring in NAFO Division 3K

DFO advises that the area encompassed by the following points will be closed to <65 ft Fixed Gear Turbot Permit holders from 06:00 hours July 18 to 20:00 July 30, 2021.

  • Point 1:  49 Degrees 43 Minutes North, -50 Degrees 03 Minutes West
  • Point 2:  49 Degrees 43 Minutes North, -49 Degrees 33 Minutes West
  • Point 3:  49 Degrees 20 Minutes North, -49 Degrees 33 Minutes West
  • Point 4:  49 Degrees 20 Minutes North, -50 Degrees 03 Minutes West

 

This closure is to allow DFO Science to conduct scientific research on the potential effects of seismic exploration on various fish species.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2021-157 has been revoked and Variation Order 2021-172 comes into effect on July 17, 2021.
