2016 Fixed Gear less than 65 foot Vessel Greenland Halibut Fishery Opening in NAFO Divisions 3LMNO

DFO advises that the fixed gear Greenland Halibut fishery in NAFO Divisions 3LMNO will open for vessels less than 65 feet on August 6, 2016 at 0600 hours and will close on August 26, 2016 at 2000 hours.

Fish Harvesters are required to hail-out to an At Sea Observer Company 24 hours prior to leaving port.

Licences conditions will be available through DFO’s National On-line Licencing System, for those fish harvesters who submitted an Expression of Interest to participate in the August NAFO Divisions 3LMNO fixed gear Greenland halibut (Turbot) fishery.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Order 2016-120 has been revoked and Variation Order 2016-161 comes into effect on August 6, 2016.
