Notice

The Regional Director-General, Maritimes Region, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, issues the Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. MAR-STN-2015-006 which closes the following areas to fishing for all species of clams, quahaugs, mussels, oysters, all whelks and bay scallops:

 

A portion of Clam Harvesting Area 4, namely the foreshore and waters of South West Nova Scotia (Terrence Bay, Prospect Bay, Blind Bay and St. Margaret's Bay) described as:

 

That portion of St. Margaret’s Bay, Halifax County, Nova Scotia, inside a line drawn from grid reference 448403 4920136 (Pennant Point, Halifax County) to grid reference 414567 4924895 (Herring Point, Lunenburg County).  Refer to map Lunenburg 21/A08 and Sambro 11/D05.

 

Note: When the boundary of an area is expressed in grid references, those grid references are based on the Universal Transverse Mercator Grid system set out on the National Topographic Series Map, Scale 1:50,000 published by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources (North American Datum 1983).
