Moncton, New Brunswick – August 14, 2026.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada hereby announces that the Notice to stop mackerel bait fishing (GNOT-2026-001) in the Gulf Region Mackerel Fishing Area 16 is revoked, effective at 04:00 ADT on August 17, 2026, pursuant to the conditions of the Mackerel Bait fishing licenses.

 Mackerel fishing will be permitted under valid personal use bait licences until the quota is reached, at which time a new notice to stop fishing will be issued.

For further information regarding this Notice, please contact your local Fishery Officer or consult the Web site of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Gulf Region, under Fishery openings and Notice of fishing prohibitions.
